Colonial Williamsburg

My last post seemed a little over-burdened… So no one thinks that all we do is serious work and prayer, here are some photos from our visit to Colonial Williamsburg this past week. This was a fun outing with the Postulants and our Director, to one of the earliest settlements in America. I love history and so this day trip, which was only a short two and a half hour ride from Washington, DC, proved to be a wonderful time to spend a beautiful day.

Part theme-park, part history class, Colonial Williamsburg is an accurate reconstruction of an American colonial village. The capital of the Virginia Colony starting in 1699, Williamsburg played an integral role in the early days of what would become the United States of America. George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Patrick Henry, James Monroe, James Madison, and other leaders, helped mold democracy here before and after the American Revolution in 1776.
